FAQ

What makes up the Encore! programme?

The Encore! programme is fundamentally a fun and liberated environment where young people can explore creativity and self-expression in their own ways, with friends, and without fear of judgement. We cover musicianship, music theory, songwriting and composing, improvisation, creative writing, poetry, public speaking, anxiety management, and more. Encore! gives its young people the space, the young people do the creating.

The standard Encore! programme lasts for ten weeks of after-school sessions. Encore! can be tailored to run for the entirety of a term. We are happy to discuss flexible alternatives.

Any young person may attend however many sessions in a standard Encore! programme that they are interested in. Additionally, Encore! can provide tailored sessions depending on what creative discipline is the focus.

Not necessarily! We are happy to assess demand and accommodate accordingly. When it comes to creating, sharing opinions and fostering the right environment, the more the merrier.

Encore! can be delivered to young people ranging from a Year 4 age, up until sixth form level.

For schools, Encore!’s base pricing is £12/hr, per child within a group session, but this can too be discussed. Furthermore, Encore! is more than happy to offer deals, discounts and taster sessions.

Encore! can currently accommodate private tuition in the following fields: 11+ tuition in any discipline, English tuition up until GCSE ages and tuition across music, composition and creative writing for any age. Be advised that private tuition, if desired, will be offered on a limited basis, so please contact Encore! via email with your enquiry as soon as possible.

Encore! is happy to provide group or 1-to-1 tuition during any holiday period. Please reach out to discuss.

Of course. Encore! is a peripatetic tuition service specialising in the creative arts. Encore!’s service is rooted in research, which demonstrates not only the alarmingly high rates of anxiety and low confidence prevalent in young people currently, but also that the creative arts can support young people through these difficulties, if not act as a cure. Encore! focuses on disciplines like musicianship, public speaking, and improvisation to build confidence, channel self-expression, and foster healthy collaboration amongst multiple other benefits.

Whilst Encore! does not necessarily have any current openings, we are happy to hear from anyone who feels that they could assist in delivering the service and ethos Encore! represents. Please do reach out via email if you feel that this could be you.

Every single person has the capacity for creativity. It may not appear as obviously as being a piano virtuoso, but the ability to express yourself is a creative skill. Such abilities go beyond performing, as honing communication skills, for example, can make the difference in interviews, persuading people, or even making friends. Your young person is creative, you and they may just not realise it yet. Besides, Encore! is not really about producing piano virtuosos either. Above anything, it is about building confidence.

A question as old as time. It has been orange for many years and will remain that way for many more.
